I'm in the market for a set for my 92 full size Blazer DD. The ones that are on the truck are rotting away, and I'd like to get better ones than the ones I can get from summit or JC whitney.

I'd really like to get a set from a vendor here who fabs up stuff, as I like to support the little guy. I just want 'em to not rot away after a year, and be able to offer impact protection.

Any links with pics would be appreciated. You can PM me too.

I wouldn't buy anything that bolts to the body. It's just asking for disaster.

They're fine if you don't live in the rust belt and don't wheel.

Mine bolt to the body supports and have braces going to the actual body mount. I have had my WHOLE truck sitting on one and it didnt even budge.

theres nothing wrong with takeing stress off of the frame by mounting your sliders to your body, but i wouldent feel safe with the whole weight of the body pushing away from the frame. thats alot of unneeded stress on body mounts and bolts.

Here is a couple pics of DP's on my 81 K5.

Thanks for the pics Shane, they look good. No response to my pm yet, maybe he wants to save me the heart attack I'll have when I learn the shipping costs. :D

As far as mounting them. what I'd like to do is bolt them to the holes in the side of the frame rails like the current ones are. I don't want to drill any new holes, as there's no rust on the truck now, and I don't want to give any a place to start. Whatever I get, they'll be powdercoated, that's for sure.

Anywas, thanks for the replies.

Mine bolt to the body supports and to the frame and have land on many a rocks and stumps and have never tweaked anything.

yeah, I don't think there is anything wrong with attaching sliders to the body... it just needs to be done correctly. Sorta like roll cages, they can be bolted to the body only... just use the right hardware and have it attach in lots of places and you're good.

i looked under my body today and now that i look at it it would be fine if done correctly because there are those 2 body supports right there.

i still wouldent trust it on mine tho cuz they are a bit rusty and unsupported :(
