School me on rock sliders. I know they are generally mounted to the frame, but has anyone mounted them to the body, like wrangler sliders? Petersens 4wheel magazine has recently completed project ecoboost, and they boatsided the f150. Do they just beef up the bottom of the body, or do they mount to the frame as well? Just wondering :waytogo:

search for "iron maiden " on here. we did body mounted sliders on it with awesome results. even put a highlift in the center of the door area when we were done and nearly lifted the whole side of the truck of the ground with NO flex in the slider:waytogo:

I did BOTH, mounted to the body and to the frame. The problem with this is, you tie the body and frame together, no flex. I solved this problem by making the frame mounted portion be able to pivot or roll with the body. Mounting this way to the frame will help with side impact.

Mine are completely bolt on and I can take em off if need be.

While this isnt the absolute strongest setup, its better than just strictly body mounting. If you do body mount only and hit hard on the side of the rock slider, you can force the slider up under the truck, my frame braces eliminate that.

Badmix those look great. Do you have any more pictures or details? Thanks

Not really, I did a build thread on them but only a few pics remain. It gives more details of the process.
