Hey guys.

Just wanted to show you a quick video of a recent trip we did. Unlike your rockcrawling where you have well established routes, this was completely uncharted territory. I did this route about 7 years ago, but it was nowhere as difficult as it is now. Nobody had been there ever since.

I want to thank the CK5 community because I was able to build my truck thanks to you. Too bad my rear window was rolled down. I have my CK5 sticker on it.

You have no idea how happy I am to finally be able to wheel this truck (after 3 years of not using it due to a spun bearing). I'm no longer the guy with the project in his garage. I'm now the guy ready to wheel anytime. :woot:

Can you say boulders?

Used my high lift on beadlocks to raise it and put some rocks under the rear tires to unlock my hitch from the rocks.

Tried to open the road, but that sand is so packed a shovel would do nothing.

Suzukis are highly praised in this country. Not in this route, though.

Nice!

I like the photo of all the trucks lined up on the trail. ( pic #5) Your Blazer stands head and shoulders above the rest and makes everyone else look so small... :)

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like a mama duck being followed by all her ducklings.:waytogo:

Looks like an awesome place to wheel and an awesome blazer to wheel in.

One piece of advice though, you might want to get something to cover up those front hubs. Looks like you're running some kind of drive slugs but with no cover you can get lots of dirt down in the wheel bearings and they don't like that very much.

Thanks for your comments!!

Ducklings! LOL

Thanks Dan. The plan is to upgrade to 35 spline shafts and get manual locking hubs. Haven't had the funds to do it, so in the meantime I'll keep running the lockouts. Since I have a front locker and the transfer is still fulltime, I have to actually remove them after each trip (yeah removing the snapring with pliers), so the caps would be in the way.

If I buy manual hubs right now, I'll have to replace them when I upgrade my shafts, and it's not easy to sell them over here. Unless someone can sell me a pair for dirt cheap. :tongue1:

You are running the front hubs without the covers on them all of the time?:eek1: I would be very concerned about getting dirt and water into the wheel bearing...that is why they are supposed to be sealed. The factory style flange caps just push on and are quick and easy to take on and off.

Great post, awesome photos and video! That was a really cool video of you going over that edge - nice piece of driving. It does look like you were leading the way on that trip for sure!

Fantastic pictures!!! Looks like fun had by all. YOU get it. Full sizes rule :D. Stoked for you and your buddies for a great trip! :waytogo:. MAD props for building your rig to it's specs. Great job :saweet:

Thanks for the great comments!! I really appreciate them. I've been working in my Blazer for 14 years now. And CK5 was the one that started it all. (see my registration date under my name).

Thanks to all of you that helped me one way or the other. :waytogo:

Very cool man. Those are some great pictures. When we were going from Antigua to Panajachel I couldn't help but wish we were off pavement and in something more interesting than a minivan.
