I’ll be doing the top conversion on my k5 pretty soon and I want to go ahead and get the rocker boxes built. If you’re seeing this twice because I posted it in my build thread I apologize I just want to get as many opinions as possible. I mocked something up in sketchup and I wanted to see what some of you thought of this design and if it would serve it’s purpose as well as the factory boxes. This is really rough and not to scale.
the grey part is the floor and the black is what I would be building. So I’d use plate to sandwich the floor and tie square tubing into it. Maybe 2x4. It would extend from as far up near the firewall as I could get it and all the way back to where the floor kicks up for the bed area. I could also use the plate for the base of the roll bar. Thoughts?
