has anyone used any type of square tubing for replacing rockers or bottooms of door jams for mid 70's blazers? thanks.

yup, they have. welding in "square/rectangle tube" is not unusual around here. search up and you'll find some pics and maybe even a write up.

One of my favorite mods so far. Strong as hell and takes a beating without even a dent:D 2x4 square is what I used:wink1:

I am looking to do this to my 74 K5. Any opinions on removing the rocker box (not sure if this is what it is called) as well? A guy at work removed most of that support structure on his truck, but I am cautious because I have a blazer, and worry about the body sagging. Anybody done this? Thanks.

do you brace that tube into the frame or just weld it into the body? it seems like it would bend the body... not a flame, just asking.

I only welded mine to the body. You can't really tell in that pic, but the sheetmetal is thrashed all around my rig...lol

So it really wouldn't matter to me if it bent the body.
