Do any of you have the problem with the rust on the rockers? I have a 1994 GMC 1500 excab, and I have rust popping up on the extended cab rocker area. Does anyone know why so many of these truck have this problem? Their is the windows, but I have sealed those. Any ideas?

check the seam on the roof right above the extend cab window .... there a channel there where the roof skin is weld and seam sealed from factory .... you might have to re seam seal it

definitly have that problem in my Jimmy, my passenger side rocker is compelety gone due to rust and my driver side is starting to get holes...

I thought about that, thank for the info. I would like to stop the leak before I fix the rust.

I have repaired countless cab corners on those trucks, replacement panels are readily available. From what I have seen, it is not a water leak problem and if it was it would cause rust higher up on the panel. This is because there is an internal "shelf" that seals off the lower 8-10 inches of the panel. They rust simply because dirt and moisture builds up behind the panel and there is not a large enough drainage area for the debris to be washed out, especially after the rust starts to build up. If water gets in there, it's just supposed to run out the rear most corner.
