BRAKE CALIPER OF ALL PLACES!!!!!!!!!

I was putting new shocks on the front of my '93 K2500 today and realized that my brake pads were about gone so I got new pads for it. I tore apart my driver's side first and found rocks in my brake caliper piston. Just take a look at the pictures below. I had a rattle on that side I couldn't find. I guess I found it today. Now here's my question, does anyone know of any logic behind putting rocks inside of a brake caliper piston? No, I didn't put them there and I did take them out before installing the new pads. This is the first time I have messed with the brakes on this truck.

That is funny! When I pulled off my 10-bolt calipers to pull the axle out I found mud inside my pistons, but I know how that got there:wink1:

If that was there reasoning behind it you'd think they would have done both sides. But there weren't any rocks in the passenger caliper. This is just one of many things I've found messed up or neglected on this truck since I bought it last year.

I have never heard of that in my life. Thats weird...

Mabey that caliper had started to stick. The vibration of the rocks constantly could have been enough to help break loose the crud on the piston.
