Hi, did a search and only came up with a few other threads of guys asking the same question. Has anyone seen a rockslider for the saddle tanks on pickups? The tanks cover the frame rails, so not sure how one would go about getting something made to protect the tanks as well as the rocker panels.

Thanks, any leads on companies that might have it all figured out already appreciated!

Bring it over to my house and we will see if we can figure something out :D. You could contact Kerk at DIY4X4, he might have a solution already too though.

Cool, sent Kerk a message they have it on their to do list but havent gotten around to it yet, I think they are crushing it so well in business for other products they just need a chance to catch their breath to tackle this!

Fixed it for ya Matt :wink1:

we have a pickup in the shop now. Mid 80's shortbox. New product being done up on it now and could possibly work in the sliders before it goes back out.

No specific timelines though.

Or better yet go buy a fuel cell, strap it in the bed then you have weight savings, a safer location for the fuel AND you can do whatever you want for sliders since the entire side of the frame rail is then visible...
That's what I did and I couldn't be happier.

I like that option aswell. Something to think about.

The quicker and easier options I like...especially since I DD it...I have been crawling under there trying to figure it out...ugh...Ill need your opinion Rob, or to see what DIY comes up with...would be nice to just bolt something to the frame instead of making modifications to the tank.

Here's mine. I have a 2" body lift so I tucked the tank up 2" They work well and I've beat em and jacked on them. It works good.

This pic the truck was in the middle of some mods but you can see how the slider sits.

i like those.

4Wheel Offroad Magazine did some on Operation Army Truck a few years ago. They did it similar to the red truck above, but the truck they built didn't have a body lift.

Sure you could do it with out the body lift. The skid plate would just have to be a little different.

I cant seem to find anything online of Operation Army Truck....and I gave away all my past issues when I moved to Walter Reed....if anyone has the article, and can scan it or take pics of the parts with how they made sliders, please let me know!
Thanks

check and measure but I'm planing on a sub tank mounted in the frame rails on the 4 door, all bolt on using factory tank mounts straps and skid plate.
check robs blazer when you go over there.
