then yes it can be done easy.

also the best way is to narrow the steering axles on the long side a bit to help with width under the rig. most all do it so thay can use a short side shaft in the now short side thay cut down. then use a std rear under the back or 2 steering axles.

do a search here for some. but try over at http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/

but read / read / and read more. before you ask read. or thay will flame you so bad. but tons of good tech on this stuff.

if your gonna do rocks do yourself a favor and do 2 steers. the fronts don't steer real good expect a 80 ft turning circle with rocks and only one steer

that still doesnt answer my question.. can i run my t-case, driveline and same springs??

oh yeah I thought your truck was lifted sorry you need quite a bit of lift

And don't forget that there is practically no way to make them streetable
 that is true.my friend Kevins is tough to steer. a few pics for 73red..i hope it helps. he has the front shaft in and all the little things finnished.my brother just picked up a set of 5 tons. a dually rear at that.i think it would look cool on his stepside. he wants single rear wheel.:rolleyes:i say dually, but its his....

perfect! exactly what i needed to know to decide its way to much of a PITA to do. even if i can get them for dirt cheap.... Anyone else looking for rocks? 1 steer and 1 non? posting in for sale

I had a 77 longbed with 2 1/2 tons and drove it on the street. I had open diffs and drum brakes and mechanical steering. Narrowed the front and ran two short side shafts. Flipped the hubs on the rear. I ran 44 tsl's on 16.5X14 wheels made by stockton wheel with ALL the offset to the outside to clear the brakes. IT was wide as hell even with axles narrowed. With a built 454 with a turbo 400.....it would shift from 1st to 3rd and skip second when you punched it with the rockwell gears. Ahh...the good ole days. That was 1987......dope and dogfood days!
