Rockwells

Ive been trying to save up for 2.5 ton rockwells for my 1982 k20... right now I have about 16" of lift....I also have a 14BFF rear and 10 bolt front, How much clearance loss will I have? Im refering to the height of the axle (top of the 10 bolt pumkin versus the top of the top loading axle).. I want to keep at least 20" clearance between the top of the axle and lowest part of front cross member/oil pan?) How much taller is the 2.5 ton rockwell? the best way to compensate for the loss? I know it sounds crazy but i want to do it..

btw.. its not a daily driver but i want it as safe as it could be for the height (take into consideration vehicles on Trucks Gone Wild)

Why do you need so much between the axle and the x member? Your rig isnt going to flex or be anywhere close to it...

A guy with 8" of lift and rock had 5" of clearance witht he axle moed forward 2-3 inches... You should have somewhere around 13", roughly

yeah, you should be fien....i know some of the trucks gone wild guys and believe it or not...ALOT of them are running our trucks with just 12in superlift springs in the front. they need to be stiff though, and they are. haha. when you say 16in lift, does that mean you have 12in springs, a zero rate, and a body lift....or custom springs????

Get pics of this truck after you get the Rocks installed!!!

As asked above, what's your suspension setup?

THe center chunk of a rockwell is about 9"s above the axle.

When I finally get the money collected ill get the rocks and post pics, (ive been having problems posting my pictures up that I have now..they either wont load up or it takes a day and a half -and with only one phone line in the house it sucks!)

right now in the front I have 13" superlift springs up front with unmoderate extra length shackles (shackles are 10" long bolt hole to bolt hole)

the rear is an ORD shackle reversal with the 6.0 HD shackles (net 4" of lift) , 8" superlift springs (52" length spring for more arch) and a 4" block

Some of this doesnt seem ideal; its what I got to work with..

also whats the best way to put heavily arched springs on square "rock" spring pads?

Where is this guy located with these axles.. I only want the front to steer--not 4 wheel steer

I live in western mass--Belchertown

Thanks

Hes in Hampton, just over the border off 95. He probably wont seperate but there only 900 a set! I may get another one in a month to do four wheel steer. If he still has two sets maybe he would give us a better deal if we buy them at the same time.

Let me know and I could get in touch with him.

Im runnin 27" lift on my rocks. I drew up some perches to have Kert burn up. You can check out chuckstrucks.com for that stuff but its mighty expensive.

I might take you up on the offer to see if he'll go better on the price if we buy them together.... Id be interested

I also might think about going to suspension connection and getting 30" lift springs...

I dont want to run anything bigger than loader tires (I kinda hate tall "skinny" tires) I like the WIDE floater tires.

theres just soo much left to do on this truck its hard to concentrate...

I did just make a bed for it though....(just wide enough to cover the frame! hehe
