Rod cap torque?

I need the proper torque setting for big end bearing rod cap nuts. My book says 45ft/lbs but the bearing manufacturer's book says 25ft/lbs.
Anybody know for sure? No speculation please....I can do that!!:D
 
maybe they say 25. and want you to measure stretch?
 
Which engine are you working on? If it's a SBC other than a 283 or 327 small journal then it's 45 ft. lbs.
 
It is a 350. I've always done 45ft/lbs before and it's been ok but just wanted to check. Thanks guys!
