Off topic car, but hopefully somebody here can point me in the right direction.

Working on a 1930-31 ford Model A coupe. We are using a new boxed frame from Speedway motors but are using some front end components that my dad already has.

What I'm looking for is a rod end that is a 5/8"s, extra long shank with a 5/8s bolt hole

Or

A rod end with 11/16s shank (standard length) with a 5/8s bolt hole.

Having a real hard time finding either one. I've messaged Dan at Ruffstuff and Kert at DIY4X just a little bit ago, I'll see what they can come up with.

Wanna get this sorted out so we can start ordering parts.

Thanks

What roughly is an extra long shank, in length? Mcmaster carr has a few possibilities on their site. These are male thread or female?

I was actually just looking at Mc master carr now. These would be male thread.

If they were an extra 1/2" that would probably be all I need. Looks like all their ends are 2-5/8 long (center of bolt hole to end of threads) but their super swivels are 2-7/8 long. I'm gonna compare that to some other companies.

Edit: all of the rod ends sold by summit racing are 2-5/8 long

Ok, think I answered my own question here. Spent the last hour looking stuff up and then crunching the numbers.

Speedway motors does have a heim with 11/16 shank with 5/8 hole. But to use that setup, I will have to modify some things, and it ends up being like $40 more than if I decided not to use some of the stuff I already have and just buy my front kit from Speedway
