I baught a roll bar that came out of 73 2wd k5 guy said it would fit in my 88k5 can't figure out how it sits in there an where does in bolt in. Do they bolt in to frame or in body

it won't fit. I looked at a few older ones for my 81, and the floors inside are different. You can always modify it...
Yeah, that guy either did not know crap about K5's and just thought they were all the same or he stiffed you. Whats done is done. As was said, it can be modified to fit. You can build a cage off of it too. Welcome to the site.
Yep, it won't fit without modifying it. They only bolt to the floor of a '73-'77, but I think the steel roof of the '76-'77 might be in the way there too.
There was a rear roll bar available though, it was mounted clear back by the tailgate.

Yeah if it goes behind the driver seats the floors are different. The older ones did not have the footwell.
If it gos in the rear of the bed it should be easy to make work.
