I need ideas on a roll bar for my 84 full vert conversion. I'm going to run the factory top in the winter so I need one to have clearance. I dont want a rock crawling type of cage. Any help would be great.

I'd go with the triple hoop chrome bar w/ about 9 KC lites across the top.

Yeah, I know I'm no help at all.

Just do a B hoop with outriggers going backwards. Completely out of the way and simple. Might even be able to find a factory one.

Factory one would be for the old style floor ('73-'77), so wouldn't bolt up to the new style. Be easy enough to lengthen the front legs though.

Yeah, I knew about the floor difference. The 73 I bought to do my conversion didn't have the roll bars in it. I'm sure they're hard to come by.

Do you have or know anyone with a tube bender?

Like said, bend up a b pillar hoop and some angles and make or buy some floor mount plates.

Diy4x staked cage plates are nice for the floor mounts.

I know someone with an old school bottle jack bender. I just want my stuff right. I was hoping more for pics I guess for insight. I want my stuff to look professional

If you are looking for pictures, and I mean massive amount of pictures to look though, check out the roll cage thread. You can come up with what you need by looking through whats been done. Even if they are full cages, you can get an idea of what you're looking for in a simpler setup. Here's the page in my build thread with some cage pictures, I think it's painted on the next page. You can see the B hoop I started with and added on from there.

Since you did a full convert conversion, what did you do to reinforce the cab structure you removed (to simulate the rocker boxes the original full verts had). If you didn't do anything then I'd suggest adding A pillar legs along with the B pillar hoop and outriggers.

I wasn't aware of a roll cage thread! Thanks a lot!

I tried to find that thread when I posted about it. Haven't been able too look real had. Might be a sticky I didn't notice. There is one somewhere dammit.

And on subject of body strength, you can do a B hoop and have legs go back towards the wheel wells. Then run two bars to the front foot area. One low along the ground where it will meet a floor plate near the parking brake. The second bar is up to you. It needs to triangulate the B hoop with your first bar going forward. If done right, it won't hinder rear bench access either. This will help keep the body straight by using 6 mounting points across 12' of body floor, take the place of your missing roof, and not be in the way like a full cage.

i done the b piller only at first, without any bender . so so job done it for safety made angles. problem i had, was i could not open the doors if i had just a little flex.decided too add front bars bought a bottle jack bender. not the best but ok for my old jimmy.
