When I brought home my 79 K5 it had a roll bar installed. Just under the cap. Unfortunetly whoever installed it just monuted it to the sheetmetal on the floor. In the front of the cab and behind the rear wheel wells. When i striped it down the areas were compltely rusted our where the botls came through. I removed it and patched the holes. Can anyone tell me how this should be mounted? I am assuming it should somehow be welded to the frame. Just wondering if anyone else already did this and how they mounted it.
Thanks

Factory roll bars were only bolted to the floor, no under body frame attachments or floor reinforcements.

To provide any strength, at minimum it should have a 6x6 steel plate under the floor.

Anything is better than nothing, the vast majority of Blazers produced didn't get any roll bar at all.

I really didn't even know it was a factory option until reading these posts. I thought it was aftermarket .

My rig is the same. They only installed a couple of bolts and didn't even tighten them down. I guess I will need to fab some plates for under and over the floor. Or maybe I just wont roll the thing over.... We will see what happens I guess.
