roll bar

your best bet would be to find a local fabracator to make one for you. Try the yellow pages for race shops or welding shops and start callin around. That worked for me....

I got a roll bar from a short box Chev, arced the mountpads off,cut the tubes down 3" I believe, ( it has been awhile since I did it) in a cut off saw, rewelded the mounts on, had it powder coated flat black, positioned it in the Blazer, marked the holes in the mounts and drilled and bolted it down,On the bolt that holds the uprights to the top cross over tube I mounted the hanger for new shoulder harness seat belts from Mothertruckers. The short portion of the belts mounted to the existing holes, but I had to use a couple pieces of aluminium angle. It turned out really well,I will post some pic,s of the Blazer soon (frame off restoration/customize ) Regards

I just dug up an old article that I scanned from a 4x4 Power Magazine, which was about Roll bar Tech. I beleive the install was the Smittybuilt Rollcage and it was installed on a first gen K5 too! Let me know if you want a copy and I will mail it to you.

bitchin4x4,
Don't know if you got my PM. I didn't see anyone else pipe in, I'm interested in your smittybuilt cage. I live north of Denver. Let me know.

Went to your website and looked around. Do you have close-up pics of your cage?? I would sure like to see how your spare is mounted to the cage. That is one ****ing sweet RIG!! I'm sure i'm not the only one that wants to see some close ups, so stopping teasing us!!! LOL

Is 2'' pipe the size most use or 3''. I just found out my father-in-law has a pipe bender and I want to make a roll bar that is similar to factory (4 point) and fits under a new fasttrack as well as the hard top. Does anyone have measurements or anything to point me in the right direction.

Thanks Robin, but I was actually looking for more like a stock roll bar and not so much of a cage. My blazer is more of a daily driver than a rock climber. Thanks though.

got the neighbors digi camera and working on some pics. should have some up over the weekend
