Well, I am building the cage now and am trying to figure out what thickness I need to make my floor plates (gonna be floor mounted for now so I can get it done, gonna tie into the frame with a mounting like something like this later:
http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Cage-Tie-In-Kit-p-433.html). What thickness do y'all usually run?

Also, I've always read the plates should be differently sized above and below the floorboard to avoid a shearing effect, how much difference needs there be?

Thanks everybody!:D

Edit: forgot to specify, planning to run two plates sandwiching the floorboard and bolted together with 4 grade 3/8" grade 8 bolts per plate, plate dimensions=max of 6"x6" (seems like the size that will fit the best).

IIRC kerts @ DIY4X are 3/16" plate. I would think 3/16" or 1/4" plate would be good.

Make sure that one plate is at least 1/2" overall larger than the other so you don't get the sawing motion of your floorboard.

Actually ours are 1/4".:waytogo:

Oh, I ended up making mine from 3/16" plate and running 7/16" grade 8 bolts. (I was planning on 3/8" bolts but, my drilling was crooked.:doah:) Pic (ignore the date, the camera is broken!):
