Anyone know if there is a rollcage kit available for a 1990 K5? Smittybilt had one at one time, but I believe that they discontinued. Any and all info would appreciated.

SW racecars You're probbaly after something a lil more then they offer though.

I have there cage in my regular cab. they amke an add on kit to cover the back of the blazer. give them a call. they were very helpful when I ordered mine and they made it the next day.

Here is a pic of my s&w dom cage. I added some tube for the seats.

I would like to know this as well. I have had absolutely no luck in finding just a simple 4 point single tube (2 to 3" ID) rollbar which is all I want for my '88 K5. Don't need the cage or anything in the cab. I'd like it to fit with the top on. I know this is possible as I have seen it in late model Blazers before, but maybe they have all been custom jobs :(

Some of my chassis is an S&W cage kit and I would be terribly impressed with it if I intended to use it for a cage in a K5.

The S&W kit requires a fair amount of notching, fitting and welding so its far from a bolt in deal.

I wish I had done all of my tube work from scratch but I have access to a bender, welder and tubing notcher (which other people may not have).

If you want a basic cage that requires a some work with a hole saw and a welder then the S&W cage may work ok for you.

A capable person could make a much better cage for a K5 for less money.

Don't worry, you're better off not finding a simple 4 point, a bolt-in at least. The only I know of is the Smittybilt four point and it's nothing to write home about. I have one and the only thing it's good for is a place to bolt my hi-lift. I'd save my nickels and dimes and have one built or learn to build one yourself. :D

I suppose so. I'm not really looking for a full cage though, I just want something to bolt some lights and an antenna mount to when the top is off. That and give the back-seaters something to hold on to.

I took some crappy pics of my cage to add to this thread. here is what the back hoop looked like before I welded it in. its much easier to weld it together outside of the truck.

here are 2 shots from the side. you can see the halo, dash bar, door bars, rear stabilizer bars. hope this helps give you an idea of what you get with an S&W kit. from what I have seen if you order a Jegs or Summit cage you will end up with an S&W kit if you are on the east coast.
