Roller cam 5.7L build

This one went through a hot tank with all plugs and bearings removed after a line bore. I'm not going to be worried about the gasket surfaces as long as they seal properly and I doubt expect any issues as they are smooth surfaces.

I pulled apart another donor motor for the oil pan and valve covers. This thing was full of sludge and had a blown head gasket. Luckily it doesn't affect what I needed.

I changed my mind on the TPI due to complexity of getting a good tune and the look just isn't right for the old C10. I did pull the old motor and transmission over the weekend and sold it all.

I will be looking to keep the same look I had with the old motor and looking into aftermarket EFI kits now.

Then I'll be looking at serpentine belt setups. I have the 86-87 style hybrid setup in a bin as one option. May also look for an aftermarket full serpentine setup that is more compact than the TBI motors.

That's a shame. You ever drive a car with TPI? GM really missed the boat not using that engine in trucks.
