ok, i had this question in the post about a rough ride on the RS5000's but i figured that i would start a new post with it. What would happen if i removed my two rear shock absorbers? Other than my ride getting softer, would i lose stability or have any other adverse effects? I think im going to try it either way just to see what shape my other suspension components are in.

Talk to Goldrush. He ran his at the Blazer-Fest with out rear shocks. I think he was looking to buy a mouth piece. He is now getting some shocks..........Dan

If it ain't broke.......Don't fix it....

Taking your shocks off is not a good idea. All I did was bounce and keep on bouncing some more. There are 4" rancho soft ride springs in the back and a 14FF, which may make for the instability and UNROADWORTHYNESS of my truck without putting shocks back on it. Hopefully this week I can get the new mounts fabricated and take measurements so new shocks can be ordered. Oh one more thing try stopping on top of a rock and you just get tipsy!!

Shocks control the spring action. They keep the spring from bouncing all the time. When I had a shock off the rear of my truck, I ran around the street just to see what the ride was like. It sucks.

I ran my truck the one week I drove it this summer before i blew the engine w/o shocks. Let me tell you bouncy bouncy bouncy. It was crazy. After I put in the new engine next week I am getting the rear shocks welded on. DO NOT WHEEL IT. It sucks. I would say leave them on. Just my 2 cents.
