Ok this has to be the biggest (at least I hope so) Chevy K5 forum out there and the best of course. :waytogo: There has to be someone out there that has put a 50 inch LED bar on top of a square body Chevy, if so I'm in dire need of your help! Ha Trying to mount a 50 inch on my roof but I don't want to weld it on cuz well I'm not amazing welder for Chevy sheet metal. I was thinking of using the gutter rails but I would also like to have sit flush with the windshield. Any help, thoughts, ideas, input, anything at all would amazing! I'll posting up pictures of a cardboard idea tomorrow if that will help out.
:dunno:
Thanks for any help I get!

I don't have an L.E.D. light bar, but I do have one that runs from side to side full width. I am using the gutter rails and have never had any issues with it.

I wouldn't mount it all the way up towards the windshield though, you will most likely get a lot of light reflecting back off of the hood when they are lit. Easier to see if the only thing lit up is the ground in front of the truck, not the hood glaring back at your face.

I did a thread about my gutter mount setup. Easy peasy and the pix may give you ideas. As mentioned, you're supposed to put the lights farther back so as not to reflect off the hood, so you could be on the right track.

Your idea is pretty much what I'm talking about. And for the glare on the hood I'm not to concerned about. If its that bad I'm ganna put a little lip under the bar so the light doesn't hit the hood.
