Rotating an np205

yes you can.

but will it work right - no. oil wil leak all over out the seals and just not a good idea. others have tryed and talked about this and not realy good thay say.

dodge and i.h. trucks used pass drop 205. and i.h. used 34" frame rail width like 73-87 chevys. same brackets to fit only drill and bolt to frame.

i got one on the garage floor from a i.h. and all brackets.

The rear bearing oil passages will be wrong and the shift rails and vent will be at the bottom. It can be done with mods but not really a good idea. Find a Dodge or International 205 t-case.

Hmm would ya sell it to me? Gotta sell this p pumped cummins thats sitting in the garage first though!

hate to highjack his thread but what is the strongest GM t-case they put in from the factory for a driver side drop truck

There is a post over on Pirate where some guy took a divorced case (can't remember what drop) and swapped parts around, made it go from one output side to the other side. IIRC it was a Ford and make into a pass drop.

Borg Warner something or other was the strongest that I know of.

1/2 ton to 1 1/4 ton it is a NP205, commercial and military trucks have bigger t-cases.

b454 did you build a custom crossmember for your divorced case? have any pictures? my membership ran out a few weeks ago.

I have somewhere, I think it's in my sig somewhere.

Had a buddy make it couple years ago for a truck that I was building. Sold that and wanted to use in this. But, after I got the truck home, tried to put it in and doesn't fit. It's a 1/4" too wide, not a bid deal, but can't even get it past the edge of the frame. Just picked up a 4500 4wd, so probly not gonna use it.
