So back in late feb I bought a 86 k10 with low miles. I am the third owner but really the second as the "kid" I got it from only had it for a week or two and couldn't get it to run so he sold it off after he put in all new brake lines. So little bit about the truck it has a 305/700r4/np208 drive train, g50 heavy duty rear springs, ye9 silverado equipment, with yh4 super saver package.
I've been reading alot of the build on here and pirate, I am going to be taking some ideas from some of the nebraska guys on here and ragan on pirate.

So here are my plans for my build 4 inch rancho springs up front diy4x shackle flip. trimming where needed to fit 37 on h1's 60 front 14 bolt ff 4.88 gears spartan locker in the front, arb in the rear. I am going to be keeping the 305/700r4/np208 for a now but doing the ord high clearance cross member and steering box brace. Body wise I'll be cutting out the rockers to do rock sliders cutting up a set of doors to make half doors bobbing the bed some. This build will start in the next few weeks after next weekend when I get back down to the family farm in Illinios.

Why an ARB in the rear and a non selectable in the front?

Martin

The 60 I got already has the spartan in it I'm just going to be keeping the front hubs unlocked. The 2 reason for the arb in the rear is cause I'm taking it from my buddy that is changing stuff around and he is giving me a good deal on it, the 2nd reason I am going to be daily driving truck for now. If I wasn't on tight budget with having a kid on the way I wouldn't be getting my buddy's hand me down stuff.

If I hadn't gotten the deal I did on my rear Detroit etc, I would have gone selectable in the rear as well. Not sure what I would have done for the front, but my Spartan has been fine.

The selectable would be nice for the street, not that driving a locker is a problem, just for tire wear.

Also, how nice are these doors? Might consider (where you are) finding a set of rusted ones to cut up.

I'm taking the doors that are on the truck yes they have rot, I got another set of clean doors to put on the truck for when I'm nof out wheeling the truck. I have no problem cutting the body as most of the cutting will be taking care of most of the rust on the truck. After the move I amgoing to get a mmembership so it will be easier posting pictures

Why Rancho springs? Assuming they aren't free there are several brands that are superior. Tuff Country is the popular choice for mos around here. The EZ rides flex and ride well and won't break you. BDS is another good one as far as name brand springs. You could also give ORD a call and they can set you up with a good set of fronts.

I got a nib Rancho 4 lift kit from the same buddy I'm getting most of the part to do my build for 200 bucks. He had ordered it when he first got his truck and started his build few years ago but then he went and did b52 kit up front with 8" lift spring then did shackle flip in the rear and did 62" springs in the rear so the kit has been sitting in his pole build. It has the shocks for front n rear brake lines for the front but the rear lift for the kit is add a lift and blocks.

So, maybe its because I just woke up, but are you building it in Hellinois? Lol, forgive me I'm tired.

Yea, alot of Jeeps down here too. I personally dislike most of the Jeep guys because they run their mouths alot because a Jeep can fit in a flowerbed or a sand box and mine cant. :haha:

I make my fullsizes fit, I cant talk to bad about jeep as I grew up in a jeep family, but I've been the outcast in my family cause I like my fullsize trucks
