I recently broke the shock mount (passenger rear) right off of my rear axle, yes I now I have a dangling shock hanging in the rear of the truck. It is still bolted uptop though. Where can I get shock mounts? I know that I will have to weld them in place...can this be fabricated somehow?

Also, since I have to replace this piece I figured why not just go for a full suspension upgrade to a six inch from a four inch. I priced out a rough country lift kit for about $660 from TOPGUNZ.

Is this a good brand? should I just get the kit and then replace the shocks with a better name brand like (i don't know) skyjacker?

I have a 4 inch Rough Country lift that I got from them and it is great. It rides good and flexes good. I can't complain about it at all.

from all my lifts ive had from RC that ride just like the name says.. once you spend a little bit more cash on a lift then you think its worth you will be suprised... i use to have a graph with all the spring rates of the companys springs for these old trucks but i have since lost it... they have higher spring rates then most companys

how about skyjacker

Ok, it seems that it really depends on opinion. I live in right in downtown boston and won't really be off roading alot--not as much as I would like anyway--for alot of street driving it may be just what I need instead of spending the extra cash. I was mostly concern with durability/reliability. But, I can get a skyjacker for about $120 more--is skyjacker more dependable and therefore worth the spending? Any experience with skyjacker?

oh yeah-the mounts

I forgot--what do I do with a missing shock mount. I can't put any type of lift with getting this fixed. Is this something that can purchased or do I have to get one fabricated somewhere

id go with the sky jacker if you got the cash man... my buddy loves his 6 inch kit and i use to run one as well... just weld some tabs on there from blue torch or jsut cut something out and weld it on... it going have to look pretty just work

If welding isn't an option for you, then I think DIY4X has some shock mounts that bolt around the axle tube.
