I am currently looking to swap out my shocks. The ones on my 91 Blazer are the ones that came with the rough Country 4 inch lift kit. The lift has been on the truck for about three years. I am looking at the Rough Country Nitro 9000 gas shocks. They are on sale at sears for $34. Anyone have any experience wit hthese shocks. How would these compare to Rancho 5000s?
Ideally, Blistens would be the ones, but my budget won't allow for it now.

Thanks

And I'm just the opposite, I've run Rancho 5000's but not the Rough Country's. As far as the Rancho's, I didn't like them one little bit because they were too harsh. They ended up cracking the rear shock mounts in no time flat. I swapped them out for some Monroe shocks and it ran a little softer. This was on a 1990 Blazer with a 4" lift and 33's.

I've got the Nitro 9000's on Big Ugly...had RS 5000's on my Blazer a while back...overpriced junk. Love the 9000's.

I ran the 5000's and wasn't impressed. I have the Nitro's on my truck right now. I like em more than the 5000's as well.

I had the RC 9000's a long time ago. Not a bad shock. When I swapped to Gabriel shocks from autozone they looked identical. The durability seems to be the same, but the Nitro 9000's were a little firmer. The biggest difference was the price; $20 each, buy 3 get 1 free, lifetime warranty. I swap them every couple of years - for free - so I am down to under $5 per shock.
