Hey im wondering about what lift I should go with. I know the tc rides alot nicer than the rc. But im gonna be adding a lot of weight to my k5. Heavy bumpers, front and rear winch. Swing out w 37" spare, may possibly also have a second spare on roof w roof rack, light bar on roof. Aux battery and solar system, Radio equipment, jerry cans for fuel and water, high lift jacks, on board compressor and possibly on board welding. All this stuff adds up in the weight department.

My thinking is with all that extra weight I may be better off with stiffer springs, what do ya think?

Tough Country heavy duty is what you want I believe. Call ORD and tell them what setup you're thinking of and they'll steer you in the right direction. Lot's of people on here have similar setups without complaints. I think you'd be disappointed with the ride of RC from what I hear.

tuff country all the way, get the heavy duty ez rides if your concerned about sagging but don't waste the money on springs that will ride like crap.

I went with rough country on my truck originally and sold them less than two years later and it was the best thing I did to make it enjoyable to drive.

TC offers an HD or EZ spring pack. They have told me over the phone that my front HD pack is only one leaf different than their EZ packs. Mine are 4 leaf and EZ's are 3 because they are missing the very bottom leaf. With my front bumper, winch w/steel, and highlift jack up front it rides decent. I wouldn't call it soft by any means. I also have the rear part caged but I'm running Burb 7 leaf 56s in the rear.

I have the 3 leaf EZ rides. As K85 said the heavy duty version is the same pack but a 4th leaf added to the bottom. They ride really well for an off the shelf spring.

friend has 6" rough country all spring lift in his 1ton truck with 8ft bed.

he had full load of fire wood in the back all the way to the top of the cab stacked all nice and neat .

the rear droped maybe 1" :eek1::haha:

if you want good ride and off the shelf . tc hd . I have a set of 3" hd tc springs and there in my plow truck it has a 8ft fisher plow on the front in the winter time that's over 800lbs . she does just fine and dropes maybe 3" inch . also it rides so nice now over the older super stiff lift springs I had and that's even when plow is off it .

if you want best load up your rig and get it done the way you want it . then call ord and have them build you a set of custom springs that will be the best way for every thing .

I had the TC EZ's on my last K5. My current K5 has ORD spec'd Alcans. Call ORD and get a price for their Alcans before you order the TC's
