I got out the degreaser and sprayed down my worn out front springs. I was able to read some stenciling on the spring. They are roughcountry springs and there is "8000" on it. I've googled and looked at rough countries site and couldn't find that part number. Does anyone have a clue if they are 4" springs or 2" springs.. or what? I've sent an email to roughcountry as well, but who knows how long it will take for a reply.

Here is a pic:

This is how it sits with 35" and the saggy springs:

those springs in the pic are shot. shaped like a ( W ) not good.

toss them and get a new set. and by the sag rate/tire fit in fenders i see i bet thay were 2" range.

Yeah I know they're shot, I'm just trying to get an idea of what was in there before I go replacing parts.

I would say they were originally at least 4" or 6" springs. From the overall picture and looking at the close up of the spring eye vs. axle location I would say it is sitting around 2" over stock currently with the badly sagging springs.

the only thing i could find 8000 was their hydraulic 8000 series shocks. i still say 2 inch unless thy are way beat up 4 inch.mine are pretty beat 4 inchers and a 150 pound front bumper and they still sit at least 2 inches higher than those.looks like 2 inch add aleaf in the rear because they are pretty close to the same lift and looks nowhere near 4 inch to me.mine may just be in better shape if yours are 4in haha.

no way 6" that would be a hell of a arch drop and would have the shackles all the way back and the eye on the frame. and thats almost factory neg arch there so i still bet 2"

In my opinion, considering those are 35" tires and the clearance they have it looks to sit higher than stock in the current form. If those springs were originally only 2" lift, take away the amount of sagging they have it would be sitting as low or possibly even lower than stock. Also look at the positive arch of the springs coming right off the ends. 2" lists springs are basically flat (no arch), the lift is a combination of going from the stock negative arch to being flat and the spring pack being thicker.

The key might be to determine how much, if any, lift the rear has.

does it have a drop pitman arm.i see the drag link and steering arm look stock from that pic.if so then it is 2 inch.with a 4 to 6 inch you need either a drop pitman arm or reaised steering arm or z drag link, all of witch still look stock on yours.so i still want to say 2 inch.haha.sorry 6.2blazer,im not tryin to pick a fight, just looks that way from the components installed.

Supposed to have and actually does is a different thing. When I bought m truck it was lifted 4" with no change in steering components

Mine are a 8002 for a 4" lift with the 6.2 and they seem to support my 5.9 ctd nicely but time will tell.

that must have been hard to turn without steering correction.get binded up and not much return to center? not cool.

Looks like they might have been 4" springs but no way possible 6" at all. Either 2" or 4" but I'm going with 4" judging by the looks of the angle of the draglink and it appears to be slightly angled up hence making it look like a 2" lift right now.

As sweetK30 said, I want to say those springs are so shot they look like factory springs. Get a pic of the rear lift and that should tell you how much the front springs were.

looks like 3 extra leafs cut off and added for spacer of about 1" lift in the rear from what i can see.

and with all the info i would say its a mix match of stuff. and it has a rear quad shock kit on it.

go grab a good 3"-4" lift prefer 4" with 4 good shocks and bolt all of that on and dont look back. that things under side looks like its from the mid to late 80s style stuff.

If I go 4", I need to get a lower steering arm. Would I need anything else? Should I just go 6" while I'm at it?

im glad i stuck with the 2 inch from the beginning.haha.definitely looks like a mix and match spring set.i would go 4 inch unless you plan on going more than 35's.even then a 4 inch and trimming will let you put 37s on there.6 inch lift will need a lot more steering correction and may also need new driveshafts.you will either need a raised steering arm, dropped pitman arm,or a z bent drop drag link to make the steering work with a 4 inch lift.if you get a full lift kit,it will come with correction for this along with 4 shocks also.the rear springs dont look too bad,so you can probably go with a shackle flip in the rear and a front 4 inch springs up front.if you dont think that you could do that kind of mod, then go with 4 springs all around in a kit.i saw one in petersons 4 wheel off road for 500 with rear springs.i think it was rough country.but they are usually under 700 for most complete kits depending on whose you like better.superlift easyrides seem to be the most popular i have heard from a lot of people.
