I found this RPO code on my 89' but what does it really mean?!? :dunno:

Did the factory install something to allow more tire clearance or what?

I also have the standard spring RPO's
YD5 - Spring Front Base Equipment
YD6 - Spring Rear Base Equipment

Any ideas on the true reason for the E60 RPO?

Google is not giving me anything too much....

Ok that's a first for me...you'd think springs would be where any lift would have come from.

I'll try and remember to check the parts manual tonight, see if I can find anything under body mounts. Does the "E" series of RPO's generally refer to any particular components? (Like G does for axle info)

Does the RPO tag actually say what you wrote, or is that off the net, based on a search for E60?

It's from my RPO tag in glove box.

Looking around, it falls into the "Body" section (E).

The reason I ask is because it always seemed like I could fit a larger tire in the wheelwell than others. Just don't know for sure though.

I also ran across another RPO - C4B (Performance Package Engine Upgrade). Don't know what that is either but doesn't matter as much because the engine has since been replaced.

If I recall correctly, the original front springs only had 2 leafs in it (but not positive).

After looking up C4B it looks like it's a "recycled" RPO. Means one thing one vintage, and changed later, or like G80, means a limited slip diff in a car, gov-lock in a truck. E60 might be the same way.

Not absolutely certain, the parts manual lists them for that year though, and should tell me, at least up until 1988.

C4B from GM correspondence meant something different here http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/history-originality/487655-rpo-c4b-ye2-help.html

C4B nor E60 is listed in the '85-88 C/K/R/V parts manual. Maybe it started in '89?

I just clicked on your RPO sticker and that is NOT E60 it IS E6C. A quick search and I find multiple people saying it means E6C = COUNTRY-GAMBIA

You may be right...it could be E6C.

But, what in the world does "East Africa" have to do with this truck? :dunno::rolleyes:

it could be F6C which is "fleet incentive ,universal sales".

Nope, if you pay attention to how the RPO decal is laid out you'll realize that the RPO codes are in alphebetical order from left to right and top to bottom and the "F" section starts 2 over to the right of E6C. :deal:
