RS 9000s or RS 9012s?

I am going to be adding a 4" ORD shackle flip, 33" BFG muds, a new steering arm, 4" Tuff Country Springs in the front, and new Rancho shocks sometime. I am wondering, should I go with RS 9000s or RS 9012s? Thanks!

the regular 9000's will work, but if you want max articulation then go with the 9012's. Although with the 9012's, you have to weld up custom mounts Front and rear....

Depends on what you are looking ot do and how you wheel.

Well actually the 9012 stands for the part number. The 9012's are 32.91 inches long and 18.94 inches collapsed. Rancho calls them 9000's, but each shock has a different part# depending on the length. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I should have specified on that. I was comparing the 9000 as the "suggested" part number for a 4" list to the 9012's for better travel.

Ok, so in order to use the 9012s, I would have to make a custom mount? If so, I don't want to have to do that so I should go with the regular 9000s?

If you want somethign to bolt up and go, run the normal 4" lift unit or maybe you can get away with running a 6" lift shock. Take measurements without a shock on for collaspsed and extended. Then you can order the right shock.

Bigdaddy89 should be able hook you up with a great shock!

With a 4" lift, the part # is 9010 I think. I have to go check to make sure. That's what I'm running by the way. I think eventually one day I'll switch to the 9012's and do all the necessary changes on a 14bolt axle, but for now, its all good. But I don't think a shock from a 6" lift would work, too long, you'll bottom them out easy when flexing. But, I'm not a 100% on this. This is not a FACT.

I would ask Steve Watson what he would suggest since this is his product.I would think just a straight 4" lift shock should work.When you do a shackle flip you will loose down travel compared to the stock set up.I run 4" rancho springs in the rear(stock set up) and a 12" travel superlift shock.I don't bottom the shock out and I have lotssssss of droop!!!Brady
