great looking rig by the way.

I love it!

What does CST mean? Was it a special package of that era?

1969 1969 saw a new V8 engine: a 255 hp (190 kW) 350 in³ (5.7 L). Along with the new engines came a new grille design for Chevrolet trucks and a more upright hood for both Chevrolet and GMC trucks. A utility variant known as the K5 Blazer was also introduced with a shorter wheelbase of 104 inches (2,642 mm). The GMC version, known as the Jimmy, was introduced the same year. Some internal cab changes were also made, most notably the switch from a hand-operated parking brake to a foot pedal, and a more modern looking 2-spoke steering wheel with plastic horn button replaced the previous year's 3-spoke wheel with chrome horn button. Also new this year was upper and lower side moldings, which added another two-tone paint option. These were standard on CST trucks, and optional in any other trim level.

;)

Looks great.

I just wonder why GM never made the door and the bedrail the size height, looks a lil odd with the door frame taller the bedrail. Seems the lines would look better if they were the same. oh well. Jus sayin.........

Nice truck, but isn't the CST emblem in the wrong spot? While I'm on the emblem subject, does your truck really need two "8-350" emblems on the same fender?

Rene

The CST and the 8-350 emblems are correct for the truck. I 'think' the CST one belongs on the fender below the "K5 Blazer" one, abd the 8-350 is sposed to be near the marker light. I do know there were never two 8-350 emblems on the same fender from the factory, and I've never seen the CST emblem on the door like that.

I feel guilty picking the emblem thing apart...and I'm sorry. It's an outstanding looking truck, the emblem thing just caught my eye.

Carry on.

lol, the emblem thing i didnt notice until after reassembly after paint and body work, all the emblem placement was done by the previous owner. The 350 emblem under the k5 emblem should have a "4wheeldrive" emblem and the correct placement of the "cst" emblem should be at the top of the door in the middle. I believe he put the cst emblems there because at some point he replaced the doors with jimmy doors and that is where gmc puts there emblems, so the holes were already there.

As soon as i got $50 to throw away at a couple 4wheeldrive emblems they will be there.

Oh no doubt that rig is clean and beautiful! i too was just curious as well, ya see i love that kinda stuff and if thier is a 350 emblem floatin around that would be approrpriate for my rig i want it!:D

that is beautiful looking nice truck. i just found my new backround for my desktop

If I lived closer I would come over and pay you to rub mine out. :o

Seriously though can you go thru the procedure you use and name the products. Wifey bought me a power buffer and I still haven't used it. Truck could use a good buffing. Hasn't been done since paint job. It has been hand waxed a few times though.

Any paint supply place should be able to help you out, I threw away my empty bottle. I had a 3m rubbing compound that came in a bottle. It was fairly expensive if i remember right, around $40 i went over the paint with that, making sure not to burn through, be extremely careful on sharp corners it burns quick, use only enough to take out imperfections, there is a learning curve to this, it flings it everywhere if you have too much. I was using a wool wheel on mine.

After rubbing compound i followed up with mcguirers deep shine? it is labled step 2 on the bottle, followed by deep crystal wax Step 3
