I am installing an ORD 1" body lift on my 1988 Suburban. The rubber mounts are trash, and the hardware (cups, washers, etc) are rusty junk. I already have the nuts and bolts with the body lift kit. What would you recommend? Rubber or polyurethane bushings, and where would you get a kit from? ORD's kit is just the body mounts, not cups or washers.

I went urethane.. ORD's with a 1" bl... cups, etc, the only source I know is LMC.. i was able to blast/salvage mine...

Yeah, some of mine are salvageable, but not all of them. Would like a kit that came with washers, etc.

pretty sure you have to piecemeal that thru LMC.. and iirc, it can get spendy ...

not sure if LMC offers a rubber kit with all the cups, washers...

They do. It is $199.95. That comes with all the bolts I don't need, and you end up with rubber bushings instead of polyurethane.

yup, you could pony up and buy it all, then sell off the extra parts I suppose....

I'd actually bet the cups would sell in here, and the rubber bushings.. don't think i've ever seen someone sell some clean used/new ones.. and I'd bet the farm people got ratty ones they'd like to replace... I know I wouldn't mind having a couple cleaner, better yet new cup washers...

I just went ahead and ordered the complete rubber kit through LMC. Their shipping is a bit crazy.

Take a look at energy suspension. I bought a set of poly, off craigslist for a a 70ish to 81 blazer, I have an 82 and kit is a little different. Selling on CL if interested. Energy look like they will last a long time and good quality.

polyeurethane bushings?

If I replace my old ones with new polyeurethane ones, will it give me a slight bit of extra lift?

i have energy suspention replacement poly kit.came with new cups and hardware.i think i paid 100 bucks like 8 years ago.they will last forever.as for the rubber to poly,if yours are trashed it will lift the body a lil bit over the stock rubber ones as they dont squish like the rubber ones.wont be much.like an 1/8 of an inch but my body on mine was about falling off the frame as bad as the rear mounts were.makes a world of difference in ride quality.

being it's gonna see a fair amount of street time I wanted to keep the potential "rattle your teeth" possibilities to a minimum.... I know there are mixed reports on that, but I figured why chance it...I'm sure the planned PC will appreciate any lessoning of vibration I can do too...

eventually I'll get to tying the cage to the frame with urethane tie-in's.. i have the parts, just need to do it...
