Went up Sun-Tues, Loon Lake to Buck Island Lake and back out Loon Lake.

All in all another great trip, had a hydro assist line pull out of the fitting and almost made for a difficult time, but I was able to repair it and get home.

Did you go alone?

I see you had a buddy with you but did you only take 1 rig?

Unfortunately yes, there was supposed to be another truck going but he flaked a few days before we left.

I know it's not at all a smart idea to go alone, but I just can't stand putting all that work into the truck only to see it sit in my driveway. I guess if I'm going to learn some lessons the hard way, at least I'll have fun doing so.

I didn't attempt anything I didn't feel comfortable or safe trying though, the hydro assist hose issue was a cumulative failure that took time to occur and I understand completely why it did, it just happened to be at a very inconvenient time.

Why did the hose fail?

Is there something you should have done different on the install?

It failed because the outer liner deteriorated within the fitting allowing fluid to leak out, pictures would help with the explanation but I'll do the best I can.

Basically the fitting is two parts, one has some really coarse nearly knife edged left hand threads that grip and slightly cut into the outer liner of the hose, then the second fitting piece threads right hand into the first fitting and expands the hose with a taper forcing it into the coarse left hand threads even further creating a strong high pressure seal.

It's this last process that caused the failure, probably not by the design of it but either I didn't thread the hose far enough into the first part of the fitting or didn't have a clean cut on the end of the hose before installing it.

edit: Would like to just say that I had zero problems with the new Yukon hubs and the Spartan locker and had to "get it" in a couple spots:D, overall drivetrain worked flawlessly.
