I always see those sweet roof racks on every burb on here. Where do get them from. I am moving to Saskatoon in the summer, and roof rack would help me carry all of bullsh!t from ontario to there.

The guys at the garage made this one. It bolts to (through) the roof

and by the way, that's a nice clean truck! I am geussing it's not your wheeler, but still, I like the diamond plate on the fron corners.

The roof rack was a custom made by the garage owners son. I will ask him about making one and cost on Monday. The truck belongs to a guy who bought it off eBay it is a used fire rescue rig. It had lights in the sides where he put the diamond plate.

He had a Land Cruiser and after seeing my Blazer and the pics of the guys here he bought it and is making mods with in a month of getting it. He just bought another one in Washington and is having it delivered.

Yes he has money and is a nice guy too. The guy and his brother with the garage are my friends.

So you can't just buy them anywhere, eh?

I don't have the money for one yet, I just want to know how much to save up. You don't have to ask him right away.

Are they just bolted to the roof? Or is it attached to certain parts of the roof?

Check Ebay for "Surco"... they're cheaper than, say, the Con-Ferr (who IIRC went under.)

If it were me I'd build one ... but then if you had a welder you'd not be asking ;) I'd offer if you were within driving distance of me =))

Man if I was in driving distance of you, my truck wouldn't parked in my driveway, burried in snow, hahaha.

I love how this place has sooo many helpful dudes!

so there isn't a company that builds these roof racks, eh?

AND, if I were able to get someone to build me one around here, how is it mounted to the roof? just through the sheet metal? or are there special load points on the roof??

He removed the headliners and mounted in holes in the braces on roof to make it stronger. It didn't take him long he made it :weld: and then put legs on :hack: and drilled then bolted it down he also siliconed the holes and legs at roof to seal it. :burb: No pics I wish I would of had my camera that day.

The pictures are a week later. The driver said he had a problem
"I can't go through a car wash now". :haha:

HAHAHA!!!

Yeah I have no problem with that, I usually wash my trucks by leaving them in the rain, hahaha.

so was it just like 1/4 steal strapping as a reinforcement, or did he build shallow boxes that fit under the head liner??

It was so funny the garage owner looked at Berry and said "awwww you have to hire some one to do it by hand now" the guy just grinned.

HAHAHA!!!

Yeah that's good man.

WHERE IS CBBR?????

I have a picture of his suburban on my desk top. That's why I wanted to know how to get one of these giant roof racks.... They look really handy, I mean I wouldn't put anything heavy on it because of me having to get it up (HEY!!! no jokes, I know what your thinking!!!), and bringing it down again.

I think CBBR's was custom built. I was there when it got tweeked from the roll over it held up well. Find a local welder he should be able to help.

Sorry Dremu, I didn't quite understand what you were talking about at first.

I did take a look at those links you posted up there, and I am going to keep on looking. I really like the full length roof racks.

what size/thickness was the tubing used to build CBBR's roof rack??

CBBR is actually in AZ wheeling with the AZ CK5 crew.... I can't go due to steering issues, which is an end result of my stupidity and lack of research.

You might want to check out www.yakima.com... I thought about buying a roof rack from them a while back but decided to hold off until everything else is done on the Blazer.
