I have looked all over and can't seem to find any pics of these on a K5. Does any one have experience with these?

Rather than welding to the frame, I went with a bolt-on. There's a Ford Superduty piece you can buy at the dealer that's heavy cast and allows for longer-than-stock shocks.

I know of them but, you can't run any thing but stock replacement type shocks. The ruff stuff ones seemed like a good alternative to shock hoops.

Depends how you mount those Ford towers. I was running 15" travel shocks with my f-250 towers. FYI

I went with shock hoops for the wow factor when you look closely. Also I'm able to position the shock so they are vertical

My reasoning for just wanting to buy some shock towers is by the time I buy dom and or shock hoop kit then buy metal to gusset and brace I could buy a nicer shock tower than I could build.

My local metal shop only sells steel plate in 4'x8' sheets.

This was my old setup:

We pie-cut the top of the tower, leaned it over, welded, then notched it for the steering shaft

This is what my steering looks like currently:

I'm going full hydro and we mounted the orbital on top of the frame so that we got more clearance to lean the shocks in a little more. The shock hoop will either be welded to the frame in a traditional style or will be mounted to my front cage work somehow:

f250 shock towers are bolt on to a k5 frame?

They have a flat mounting surface, so just drill the necessary holes in your frame and bolt these up wherever you desire. The later ones are cast iron and the shock mounts a little differently, but they are still usable. Search around on here, there's many threads discussing this

I cut a few inches off mine to run 12" travel shocks with about 5" lift.
