I am doing a disc brake swap on my suburban. I am having some problems with the calipers fitting into the brackets. They brackets seem like they are too small? I will post some pics in a minute.

Before you get all panicky i've seen where people did not make the cutout between the caliper mounting bolt holes large enough and the caliper hits in that area. You might find that a small amount of grinding on either the caliper bracket or the caliper itself will fix this problem assuming that is the problem.

lol - at this point, i am far from paniky.

I am just hoping it is an easy solution.

Post a pic of the bracket itself then of the caliper itself and lastly the bracket with the attemped mounting of the caliper so we can see where you might be having the problem.

here are the pics i just took. i can get some of the ones you requested in a minute. The calipers are napa part # 242-2072 & 3.

On mine the opening of the bracket was a little narrow to allow the caliper to sit in. I hit each one with the grinder and in about two minute I had perfect fit. Pretty easy fit IMO.

Look to make sure that the bottom of the caliper casting below the piston isn't hitting the bracket where that mounting bolt on the housing is at.
