Has anybody used these?

Mad Racing

Ruggles (this is for an aircraft app, couldn't find an automotive one)

The basic idea is to use bathroom scales and a long lever arm to measure corner weights. Not the most accurate, but OK for ballpark and less than 1/4 the cost of Longacre type scales.

Yes, I realize I can get axle weights at the dump, and I realize that these aren't pro racing quality, but does anybody have any experience with them?

If you have a bottle jack with an extra port you can get axle weights that way as well. ;)

I'm a nerd. :D

No actually axle weights would be fine, but I have some kooky plans where a bottle jack and pressure gage wouldn't really work. Maybe if I bribe the guy at the dump to let me bring a cherry picker and borrow the scales for half an hour..... Now I've said too much. :D

I don't know about the scale at your dump/scrap yard/whatever, but there's enough room between the entrance and exit posts on the local one that I could probably put one corner of the rig on it at a time.
