Rumble Bee. (Getting cannibalized for the greater good)

I dubbed it Rumble Bee just because of the colors and the fact that it's got abored big block with headers and about 4' of 3" duals with short glass packs and turndowns. It gets attention and scares small children lol.

Except Kaz, he loves it :D

First items on the list are chasing Gremlins. Couple leaks, couple gauges don't work, etc. And tires. The tires on it would be great if I owned land. Tread is about 3/4" deep. But the side walls are pretty cracked.

Next is figure out a final direction. Beds gotta go. Cab is actually way too nice for it's intended use.

Plan was sell can and clip and build a tube buggy based off the frame. But I kinda want to still have a squarebody look. So I'm torn there. Needs to be a 4 or 5 seater in the long run so that's gonna be tough.

If I had the space I'd stretch a K5 tub 11" to fit the wheel base. But then I wouldn't want to bash it lol. So buggy it will probably be.

I have a buddy with a rusted cab and clip on a 2wd C20 that he's trying to sell. He's talking about trading me clips and cabs plus a couple hundred cash so that he has a nice truck to sell (putting the money into the burb I just sold him) and I have some body panels I'm not gonna feel bad cutting and denting up. Then maybe I can do a buggy with skins riveted or welded to it for a squarebody look.

He also has lines on a short bed for next to nothing that I can use. Tenative plan is cut the back of the cab out and put seats in the bed. Cage it. Then figure out a more long term route later after some abuse

Well so far the Todo list is adding up but not bad.

Needs seatbelts lol. Has a driver's side one that's usable but bad. Nothing else.

Rear pinion seal, possible bearings.

Master cylinder lid leaks...:dunno:. The rubber inside it looks good. But it leaks fluid down the side of the reservoir.

Tail/ turn lights need attention. At least one is out in back. Haven't checked any others yet.

Needs mufflers before my neighbors Lynch me lol.

And tires.

Other than that it's a decent driver so far.
I'm planning on mounting my bender soon and seeing what kind of waste I can make relearning how to bend multiple angles lol. My main experience has been with conduit but that's usually all 90* out from bend to bend. I'm not putting any tube in yet for a cage. But I want to use a full stick learning and I'm going to start by attempting a 'B' pillar hoop. That can be used even if I do go full tube buggy

Can has more Bondo than originally thought so thats not a big concern anymore. Front fenders are decent but the guy that has a box for me has fenders too. Only thing in the way there is what he's gonna want for them ..?

On another note, going by grimjeeper I believe I have 4.56's not 4.10's. I plan on buying tires real soon so I need to pick a size. The military tires on it have great tread and seam good, but have quite bad weather cracking on the side walls of a few. Never had bias plys before so I don't know how big of a deal that is..:dunno:. I kind of figured that's just the nature of the best with bias plys.

Since this will see very little road time and no DD duty. Would I be fine with 4.56s and 39.5" tires? Or should I stay with 37"? I have lines on some 39.5" Pitbull rockers on aluminum outlaws for 1200 if they are still there. But they are 2.5 hrs one way away from me. And used. Or spend 1400 on brand new 37x13.5 swamper iroks delivered to my door.

Well it's decided,. It gets new 37x14 interco irok's later this month. And I picked up some exhaust stuff for it too. All 3".

The mufflers are flowmaster 50 series

Exhaust isn't perfect. But it's done for now. Wanted to weld it. But didn't have the time really today.

Sounds good still. Almost still too loud for legal maybe, but I don't think I'll get messed with.

I also found out that it'll kick it side ways and roast roast em lol

Ordered the 37" Irok's today. Should be here next week. I'm going with 14 oz of airsoft bbs in each for balance. Little more than needed but convenient packages.

Found a box that's perfect for my intentions and price range, but 3 hrs away (other guy flaked out).

Box has to wait though because of the tires.

I need wiper arms, and maybe a motor. Plus either seat belts, or an entire seat out of a newer truck. So that we can all belt in. Same price really. $200 for new belts, or a used newer seat with integral belts.

Not so near future plans involve a 4l80e or th400. And probably fiTech system. fiTech for the off angle goodness of FI. And the auto trans so that the wife can drive it in the mud or trails a few times.

Seatbelts in and done. Seats kinda figured out

Picked up a 241 for it today. Going to rebuild that, and mate it to a th400 before it goes in. Tires will be here tomorrow.....after tires are on it'll be wheeling time real soon :)

I don't mind FI. I just really hated the tbi crap my burb had. No real diagnostics. Hunt, peck, and change chit till it works. Only real reason I want it on this is I don't want to deal with the off angle dieing BS. It's got a street car Edelbrock on it... I don't like Edelbrock to begin with. A good carb is about $400-500 now adays. Even the new, better Qjets. So why not add another 500 and go with a modern stand alone FI

Tires on. 14oz of Ballance beads in each. Trimming comes next. Probably following the red lines pretty close.. I'm going to eventually lower it a tad. So decent cutting is needed.

I would like to have custom springs made for 5" of lift and move the front a touch forward, and the rear back 2 or 3". Probably need a longer than stock spring for that. Not sure. That's a couple years away and plans may change. Who knows. For now I may do zero rates to get what I can out of what I got..

I did notice that I have pinion bearing play. Not a lot. But feelable..... Is it possible to just tighten it down a touch more to take that up until I can rebuild it? Or is that a bad idea all the way around?

Don't trim those fenders. Add a zero rate and one Inch body lift
