Can I run a ford 205 upside down. I have a divorsed ford 205, and am thinking about making a homemade doubler. It would have to make 4-5 hour trips. Any help is greatly apriciated.

Plug the vent, and make a new one on the new top. I am sure I can figure out the shifting. I can always make a shifter.

How does the case lubricate? Are there any bearings that will get dry?

i have a buddy that did the same thing to his samurai and put steel plate front to rear...i'll see if i can get in touch with him to find out what he had to do...

I believe a 205 just uses gears to move the oil, but I could be wrong. That is what I am worried about. I dont want a bearing to go out when I am on a long trip.

Is the goal to switch between passenger-side and driver-side drop? Finding a different 205 could be easier than rigging up a shift linkage for this.

The goal was to switch to passenger side droop. But I guess I could use a ford axle, and fix the problem. The only bad part is the only ford axle I can get for free is coil sprung, but it is complete with torsion bars, track bar, etc. I guess I will be doing some fab.
