have it all just about done. i got the hose from auto zone. i had help with it. my friend is putting some clamps on the hose. comes out and said this hose is no good. its for a carb. not fi. so it has no psi rating on it. that took a long time. cam i use this for a bit or it this just a bad idea.

i feel dumb. dumb thing to do:mad:

thanks

TBI is low pressure, like 9 to 14 psi or so. Stock good quality hose is fine. Some carbs run 7 to 9 psi. You'll be fine. Make sure those hose clips are good though.

In a carb vehicle "most people" are using the factory fuel pump that is on the engine and therefor there is no pressure in the line behind the pump unlike a FI vehicle with an intank electric pump which has pressure in every portion of the fuel line.

To play it safe i would run the high pressure FI hose.

if i remember correctly, the non-FI hose we sell at work is rated to something like 30 psi. the high pressure stuff is rated above 100 psi. its also like 1.50 a foot compared to about 5$ a foot for the high pressure fuel injection hose. Get them to check what its rated at. If its braided (which it should be) it should easily be able to hold the TBI fuel pressure.
