So the last time I was out in the blazer I was doing some up hill/slow going at lower RPMS. The blazer died twice/ran out of gas at carb. Both time I got out to check and my little inline see through filter was empty. I let the electric fuel pump run a bit and nothing. I then sat a few second, and the fuel pump ran again for a bit/still empty. Then the pump went under pressure (tone of pump changed). The filter filled and off we went.

Any ideas on where to start? I do not think it is the pump, but it is possible. I could hear it running whole time. Both times the tank was over 1/2 full. So I am thinking something in the tank, bad line? Etc...

Thanks a ton

Could be the gas cap wasn't letting any air IN so the pump could suck it from the tank??..or a rubber line thasts collapsing inside, blocking fuel flow intermittently...I've seen a pinhole on the top of a metal fuel line let air get sucked in and prevent the pump from getting fuel, yet it wont leak when shut off!..

I will add that to my list to look for. I am pretty sure it is not the cap idea as mine fits pretty loose and my vent lines will leak if I over fill em. I was thinking the pin hole or a collapsed line as well, but it seems to happen only at lower speeds/rpms. Not while I am running at the top end. I gues the pump pump the same regardless of engine, so faster rpms would not mean harder pull by the pump. Guess I will hit the car wash tonight and search down the issue... It has ran fine the last couple days around town.
