This is a long shot because it is difficult to put into words... but basically my Blazer is running like crap at times. Sometimes it runs fine, other times it runs not so fine. It feels like from a dead stop, when I step on the gas pedal, it doesnt do anything. It feels like it is about to fall on its face off the line but then all of a sudden, its like someone opened the gates... it takes off like a champ. Does that make sense to anyone ? Lol I hope so. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nick

Done the basics? Very good visual inspection of the ignition and fuel system, looking for loose wires, connectors (reseating them isn't a bad idea) vacuum lines, etc.

Plugs, cap, rotor all in good shape? Fuel. filter fairly new?

Yeah I've done the basics. New fuel filter, new wires recently, new cap and rotor as well. Its not throwing any codes

Would you describe it basically as a bog off the line, sort of a hesitation then it accelerates like it should?

Any other sort of problems, like rough idle at times, etc? Did this start after you had done work to it, or just random? No way you crossed plug wires, have a bad plug, etc?

You hit the nail on the head with that one. That is exactly how I would describe it. And yes, I do have a rough idle at times. Not always, but once and a while. I am fairly confident the wires are not crossed and the plugs are pretty new. I will double check just to make sure.

The only things I can think of by your description is:
1. your Throtle position sensor is going bad. ECM does not see the throttle open so does not enrich the FA mixture. Causing the bog off the line.

2. Or possibly a sticking open EGR valve or EGR solonoid problem. That will give a rough idle and cause a lean condition poor acceleration ect. Usually will throw a code but not always.
Pull the vaccum line off the EGR at idle. Stick your finger over it and see if you have vaccum to the EGR at idle and if the rough idle clears up, the solonoid is prolly bad. If no vaccum and still have the bad idle pull the EGR and clean it and see if the valve is closing all the way.
It would be good if you can get a scanner on it to see how things are working.
