I know from searching that there is no way, at home, to paint cast iron exhaust mainfolds and have it last. But what about rust converters? Since they change the rust itself and turn it black would it stand up?

Not sure if that would work but if you wanna a cool look ask around about alluminizing your manifolds. Its pretty cheap then you can spray them with a high temp (good quality) hedder paint. Alluminizing is a process that basiclly takes solid rods of (yep you guessed it Alliminum) and liquifies it and blows it onto a surface. It looks really cool and lasts forever. I have had it done to various engine parts and it works great. I did it to my hooker headers for my 73' Lt camaro and painted them. After 5 years the paint still looks great. I dont drive it all that much but it still looks great. I did get very very minimul color change of coarse when I ran the motor. I paid 65 bucks for the two hookers to be done. ( wait that didn't sound right) LMAO. Here is what it looks like....

I used rust bullet on the muffler & exhaust pipe on my tractor. A year later the rust is coming through & I can smell the rust bullet burning everytime I run it. It has definately slowed the rust down & isn't peeling off.
