I found quite a bit of rust inside my '69 Jimmy after pulling out the carpet kit and am trying to figure out which is the best product to use on the metal after grinding away the surface rust. I plan on keeping Jimmy forever so am looking for a long term solution. So far I have bought a container of "Rust-Mort" and a spray can of Extend but havent used either. Anyone with experience on this subject who would like to share? Thanks in advance...

herculiner from wal-mart. it cost $100, but it works great.

Herculiner doesn't neutralize the rust. Most of the pro body shops use Rust-Mort. Follow the directions on the bottle and you'll be fine. It is vital to let it sit at least three days so that the rust converts, then rinse the residue off and then prime/topcoat it.
