Okay the warm weather is here. looking to protect the bottom of my freshly cleaned rust free k-5. Checked out rubber undercoat, and somthing they call waxoyl. this looks interesting.it desperses any leftover moisture as its sprayed on.makes a good seal.called hardwax coating with interior spray. will not crack or pell. Already cleaned up any surface rust, Does anyone know if this is similar to ziebart. Cant find any body close that installs.

What about a "do it yourself" bedliner? I was thinking of doing that to mine. Dupli-color makes it in a spray bomb. Curious what everyone thinks?

I'm all-ears too.:ears:

I had my blazer completely redone last summer, and drove it this past winter. LOTS of salt on the roads and COLD temperatures mean I wasn't able to wash it as much as I would have liked to. :doah:

I washed it again yesterday and there is some rust starting under there but it will all be surface rust. The body itself is fine.

So I will add my question, should I prep the rust first somehow and then rust-proof it? Something like Eastwood products, only better?

 !!!!I was going to upload a picture showing some of the rust starting under the front wheelwell but I can't! I guess we're still having network issues  Can't even upload new pics to photobucket

so here is an old pic just for the hell of it

well that works...

I thought about taking the front inner wheelwells out and prepping them for paint/coating but they were just redone by the autobody shop last summer, I think the paint was chipped from the rocks off the tires and now theres just a bit of surface rust forming. Maybe just scuff it up and prime it really good? Then a coat of something heavy duty like bedliner? :dunno:

I'd like to take it somewhere (or do it myself) to have the whole underside painted with something that protects it and get rid of the 'brown look' under there..

The Duplicolor stuff is ok, but to do it right is going to be $$$. My plan was to use something from Lizard Skin or similiar to coat the entire bottom of the rust free tub I have at home, and problably the same with some new front inner fenders.
