I've heard that as well. Guys taking pump sprayer bottles, filling them with used oil, and then going to town every winter or few months.

For all the time and $$ I put into the body of my truck I know I still have rust forming.
I am parking the truck after xmas until March so there will minimum salt exposure.

I picked up a cheap sand blaster gun from Steve's wholesale. Just an air gun with a pick up line dropping down before the nozzle. Run a hose into a bucket of sand and it works like an air brush. Works pretty good, but it's picky about what goes in. I have a lot of sand on my place, but it's moist and has random weeds in it. The gun didn't like that. But it does great on bagged sand. The gun was about $15. It goes through sand pretty quick and unless you can seal the truck in a room and recollect the sand you'll have to buy a few bags.

that rust isnt that bad. make sure you grind to bare metal though, and also the back side. Somehow moisture is getting into that crevice, so if you can, you should try to get to the source. Its probably just the back side. Once you grind off the rust, you need to seal it (from the back side). Dont wait until summer, it only grows bigger. Ask how I know.
