hey i took these rotors to pepboys to have them resurfaced, but they wouldn't do it because the rotors were right at the minimum thickness.

napa wants $90 for each rotor.

i'm thinking i should just use the rusted ones and let the brake pads wipe the rust off.

what would you do?

Shop around. You can find them cheaper.

but are they smooth and true?

A quick search at www.autozone.com says they are 48.99 each.

About this product:
Part Number GR5593
Weight:20.938 lbs.
Warranty:3 YR
Note:Vented rotor
Pricing: $48.99

Also, the rotors need to be attached to the hubs befored you can machine them properly.

I think you know what you gotta do...

you have them off so ditch them and install new.

and i have a set like that with rust. been running them for 2 years. still see the rust but it stops. if i had to do again i would cut or replace.

When I went to AutoZone in December, they didn't have the $49 rotors and said they couldn't order them. :dunno:

So I got part number YH141469 (Wearever brand), they were $57.99 each.

i just bought them from autozone , they had to be ordered tho (ordered tuesday and had em friday). 80.00 out the door(for the pair)....as mentioned above.. ive been getting some stuff there and they are pretty competitive...

I guess the guys behind the counter at the AutoZone I went too are just to lazy to order stuff. :dunno:

They said it wasn't in their system and I'd have to order them online. I went online and it either wouldn't let me order them or shipping made it more expensive (can't remember which). I do remember that the website would not let me have them sent to a store - I would have to pay to get them shipped to my door.

Most any auto parts store around here has them for under $50. Carquest, Kragan, etc. Just go into one and ask.

hey, so i threw my rusted rotors on a lathe at work, and i wiped all the rust off with scotch brite. it was just a surface rust. the rotors weren't porous at all.(which was awesome). anyway heres before and after.
