Well five and a half hours in it today! Got the rear corners fixed and area under seat. Ran into problem on front floor! Had to order a repair panel from Summit $41.97 should be here Wednesday. So that will be another lost day of getting that fixed and another $50.

So lets see what it cost so far.

$100 for rear corners and seat build up.
$41.97 for the patch panel (I just sold one in all the parts :doah:)
$50.00 to weld it in
$22.00 for taxi to bring me to service station
$213.97 total expended on repairs :doah:

BTW Craig I helped keep you employed.....:haha:

i which my cab was in that good of shape.

when i replaced mine i bought the full drop in side for each side from LMC and it still wasent big enought to cover all the rust and the giant flinstone holes so i ended up fabing parts to get it looking good

OK two days work on it did a darn nice job on the floor section almost looks like factory! The rear we did not have enough metal to blend it.

Now all I have to do is replace both inner wheel wells on front. Finish packing and get rid of a few more things.

Your rust aint nothing compared to mine, HA HA!

Check my thread on Project Dieselwarrior, waiting on payday to rent a welder to fix the ABSENCE of floor. HA HA!

Good work, keep at it...

Saved by Summit again!

Well got the rusted inner fenders replaced Today (Friday). The RH battery tray was so rusted it broke from bolts. Called all over town no luck GM was $50.26 List $72 couldn't order till Monday and it takes two days.

So off to the web I did fly. Called Summit and they had one got the same guy I dealt with before. Told him I was in deep doo do and Needed it by Monday noon. Said no problem and he shipped it UPS 2ND DAY AIR no extra charge.

I think I will be doing more business with them if I need something.

Goodmark Battery Tray $39.95
Ohio sales Tax..................$3.25
Shipping...........................$9.95
Total .............................$53.15

FOr you guys doing floor repairs, I know most times its a budget thing and all that, but has anyone thought of doing cargo/storage boxes with access thru the floors? Instead of just panels to fix the rest.

just wondering

sounds like a Jeep thing to me! 1950's to 80's under the seat Jeep thing

I don't have ANY rust on my rig but I have thought about cutting out a good sized section of floor under the rear seat and then building a storage box to recess into the floor and then using the piece of floor section that was removed as a lid with a piano hinge on one side and a locking mechanism on the other side.

Nice work so far. As I understand it, you are paying someone to do the weld repairs for you, correct?

I am curious as to what they are charging you... so I know how much money I should tell the wife I saved by BUYING a welder and doing it myself... I gotta justify the purchase some how!
