rusted rocker panels

the rocker panels on my 82 K 5 are starting to rust out and i was wondering how much time and effort is it gonna be to cut them out and weld in new ones?
How about the rocker panels LMC advertise for 29.95 each, are they worth it or would GM OEM be the better solution for 125.95 each?

i could use some help on this one..

If you four wheel it then I would suggest that you use 2x3x1/4" tube steel in place of your rockers. That way you will not beat them up and rusting will never be a problem again. If you do go with the original replacements, then they are a pain in the ass to install.
