rusty blazers 70's vs 80s

It seams like the 80's and early 90's blazer rust less then the 70's. Did they make any changes to the sheet metal?
 
And the fact they are atleast 10 years newer. Add in better paint (well, maybe not the 80's) and better metals...you get longer lasting trucks.
 
I rarely ever see a 90s k5 rusted.

Come to Michigan. There's not a K5 of any era that's is not rusted here unless it's been in the garage it's whole life, or has a fiberglass body. (like, uh, mine).
My '97 K2500 is starting to rust out, the bottoms of the doors have rust which has split the inner and out panel there. I
 
Which is why I went all the way to Seattle to get my '89.


(Yes, I'm leaving the state shortly, shouldn't have to deal with the rust near as bad where I'm going.)

I'm in Seattle... maybe I don't realize how good I have it hear. Actually the best trucks I've seen come out of the tri city area.
