Any good stuff out there I can put on to stop the rust? I did the POR 15 a few years ago and just got through grinding out that garbage along with the new rust that it didn't prevent. I am also gonna herculine the floorboards so I need something that will work with the herculiner.

But POR15 is the "miracle" product?! :eek1::rolleyes::haha::rolleyes:

you may wanna try a converter this time (tannic acid) just knock as much rust down as you came with a sander, grinder, apply, etc.. Eastwood makes one, but I can't vouch for the quality.. I've used Gemplers, Mar-Hyde and a few others in the past with good results...

anytime.... it helps any topcoat stick if you can rough up the black iron tannate once it converts and dries..

How rusty is it?

If it's just a light amount of crust here and there, plus maybe a few pinholes, I just like to give it a good coat of rustoleum paint. Holds up pretty well, plus it's thin enough that you can see rust starting before it's too late.

If it's really crusty, think about replacing the metal with new, especially if you want to put a thick bedliner-type coating on it.
